About Me

How I found instructional design

Connecting communication, creativity, and a passion for helping people succeed.

My career path hasn't followed a traditional route, and that's one of its greatest strengths.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Drama, where I developed an appreciation for storytelling, audience engagement, and creating meaningful experiences. Throughout my career, I've worked in a variety of roles, including performer educator, administrative assistant, licensed massage therapist, and creative editor.

For more than six years at Children's Mercy Hospital, I've focused on digital communications, where I discovered a love for design and user experience. Along the way, I've taught myself skills such as Photoshop, HTML, and accessibility best practices while exploring new ways to make information clear, engaging, and easy to use.

Instructional design brought together many of the things I've enjoyed throughout my career: communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and helping people succeed. 

Today, I create learning experiences and resources that help people understand information, build confidence, and apply what they've learned.
